Managing anger may seem impossible, but there are ways to manage anger without becoming a slave to it. But it is important to explain to a partner that this is an attempt to diffuse the situation, failing to do so could leave a partner feeling ignored, which will escalate the situation even further.
  • Emotional detachment from a confrontational situation enables a person to remain calm and rational, therefore preventing the feeling of retaliation and anger from surfacing in the first place. This is an invaluable tool to conflict resolution. It is important not to permit the feeling of retaliation to dominate and suppress a rational behaviour.

The assumption made is that the trigger for anger is not due to drugs or medication, as these types of rage are artificially induced and need to be addressed accordingly.
